The story
The model of the Spartacus sculpture represented on this clock is kept at the Louvre Museum. It is the work of XIX Century neo-classical sculptor Denis Foyatier. This subject is characteristic of the liberal rise which will lead to the revolution of 1830 and the advent of the monarchy of King Louis Phillipe.
